Testing at APSS

Our nurse is available without appointments on Tuesdays from 1:00–4:00 pm to conduct testing for:

  • HIV
  • Hepatitis A, B & C
  • STIs (Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis)
  • Pregnancy

All services are free and confidential.

APSS also partners with the Community Based Research Centre to distribute free HIV rapid self-test kits for home use. Contact the Education Coordinator for details.

Why Get Tested?

Early detection through STI testing allows for treatment and prevents transmission to others. Untreated infections can cause serious complications.

“1 in 5 people living with HIV have not been diagnosed.”

HIV Tests Available

  • Point-of-care (rapid) testing — results within one minute using a finger prick
  • Dried Blood Spot (DBS) — can be used in rural and remote areas
  • Standard HIV test — blood sent to medical laboratory
